Who am I?

My name is Gloria and I provide services that could be helpful to you. I am a Spanish native speaker living and working as a translator in Spain. At the moment I am mainly translating in the languages pairs from English into Spanish and from French into Spanish.

The projects I work on cover a wide variety of subjects, such as subtitling, subtitling for deaf population, medical translation and translation of websites. My fields of specialization are media, history, tourism, philosophy, social issues and spirituality.

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Studies of Universidad Autónoma in Madrid, where I studied general and literature translation. Later on, I studied audiovisual translation and contrastives studies in an MA in English Linguistics and decided to specilize in translation. I have also a Master of Arts in Audiovisual Translation of Universidad de Cádiz and ISTRAD. My interest in health made me specialise in medical translation by taking a course in Trágora Formación.

I have worked as a freelance translator, subtitler and proofreader for more than five years. In the last year, I have translated from French to Spanish and subtitled diverse documentaries and interviews on art, nature, politics and philosophy for ARTE. I have translated from English into Spanish medical questionnaires and researches. I have also subtitled for deaf population diverse series and TV shows for different Spanish TV channels. In addition, I have revised e-mails and CVs for several people, helped writing a webpage and an app for meeting people, and more.
